A unique programme targeting promising graduates from east London who are interested in a career in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

ELBA Graduate Local Employment Scheme (EaGLES)

The ELBA Graduate Local Employment Scheme (EaGLES) was created in 2005, to address the high unemployment and underemployment levels in east London, with a particular focus on east London, Islington and Haringey Boroughs (Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Newham, Greenwich, Waltham Forest, Barking & Dagenham, Haringey, Islington and Redbridge).

The carefully selected candidates undergo three weeks of intensive training at ELBA followed by a six-month paid work placement at a prestigious company in the City or Canary Wharf.  These companies benefit from having a job-ready trainee with a detailed understanding of the needs of east London that adds value to CSR programmes and local recruitment strategies. This experience results in the graduates becoming highly employable, in fact 96% of those who successfully completed the scheme have gone on to find permanent employment. Currently we have 12 trainees who joined the Spring 2015 programme.
