One East London

One East London is a flagship ELBA programme building sustainable partnerships between businesses, the public sector and local communities to ensure that Stratford City is built as a sustainable community within East London.
Raising Aspirations

Raising the skills and aspirations of young people and bridging the gap between business and the community is a vital part of our work. Through One East London we are empowering young people by introducing them to a wide range of businesses and a diverse group of employees.
Twenty Year 10 students studying towards Engineering or Construction and Built Environment Diplomas at Lister and Eastlea Community Schools in Newham, visited City of London and Bovis Lendlease’s New Court development in the City . The visit provided an insight into a large-scale working site and different career options available in the construction industry.
A group of Year 12 students from Sir George Monoux College in Waltham Forest visited Credit Suisse where volunteers helped the students with their university application personal statements.
Three volunteers sat on a judging panel for Park Primary School’s mini Dragons’ Den. The judges, from Cadbury, Accenture and Caramel Rock also visited each Year 6 class to answer questions on their working life. Shaun Pero, a manager at Cadbury UK, found the panel an “amazing experience”.
