London Legacy 2020

London Legacy 2020 is the ELBA programme set up to help east London capture a positive lasting legacy from hosting the 2012 Games. This initiative is particularly important in the UK’s most deprived neighbourhoods which surround the Olympic Park.  ELBA’s Legacy 2020 team has exciting and unique projects across East London covering culture, skills and sport.  As an Olympic sponsor you will clearly be able to make your mark during this once in a lifetime event, engaging your staff and raising your profile. Our team will support you in having a stake in east London and building the legacy it deserves. SPORT

The One Movement festivals are part of the larger In the Parks programme which is funded by the National Lottery through the Olympic Lottery Distributor. In the Parks was set up with the aim of bringing Olympic style sports festivals to local people and parks around the main Olympic Park, to engage and enthuse young people and their families in sports taster sessions. The programme also aims to enhance community sporting provision in the Host boroughs by providing a capacity building package of support which offers the participating sports clubs access to a business mentor and a series of free business skills workshops.

The project is being delivered over two years with three festivals delivered in 2011 and five planned for 2012 with a target of 2,000 attendees at each event. The events will take place across five of the Olympic Host boroughs; Greenwich, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest. A legacy of long term sports engagement will be encouraged with a particular focus on the seven sports identified by the five host boroughs, as these will feed into long term usage of the Olympic and Paralympic venues (basketball, athletics, tennis, hockey, aquatics, cycling and football).
