Employment

At ELBA, we encourage our corporate membership to invest their skills, resources, ideas and perspectives to create innovative solutions to local employment issues.
'The business case for recruiting locally is clear. As well as helping to tackle unemployment in East London, your business will benefit from lowered recruitment costs, higher retention rates, increased diversity, new business / increased market penetration, reduced travel to work time and good PR. It makes sense to be involved'.

Real Apprentice – Tower Hamlets
This project is our flagship training into work scheme pioneered with Mitie Business Services. We offer a twelve week work based programme that focuses on specific skills for particular industries as well as providing a comprehensive induction to the world of work. Candidates are given the opportunity to build skills, gain experience and confidence in a real work environment over twelve weeks, then to progress directly into permanent positions. This scheme allows both audiences (employer and candidate) a ‘try before you buy’ period which is of course beneficial for all.

Access to jobs
We run a number of innovative programmes that focus on giving hundreds of local people the opportunity to gain transferable skills and acquire experience and confidence in a real work environment over a set period of time. We are extremely proud of our track record of enabling many of our trainees to progress directly into permanent positions. The impact on their lives and the wider community is absolutely invaluable.

Job opportunities and placements
Your permanent vacancies form the core of our activity, and it is vital that we continue to receive your support in the form of permanent job opportunities. We welcome individual opportunities as well as a requirement for larger amounts. Your input here can transform unemployed people’s lives.
