Rep London

Rep London is a three year employability and volunteering programme which will leave a legacy of young people who will thrive in education and employment through the development of key skills, raised aspirations and the acquisition of community/business skills.

The young people taking part in Rep London are being prepared to be able to provide a range of practical services to visitors in London at One Movement sports events and at Games time as volunteers.

Rep London needs more modules, especially in the following topics: Creative Writing, Critical Thinking, Business Ethics, and PR and Communication. We are asking each company to provide a minimum of 6-8 modules per academic school year (September to July), more if they have the capacity. Modules are an average of two hours long, although some are for one day, and are delivered from the company’s place of work. The students travel from school and are accompanied by a teacher and, on at least the first visit, an ELBA member of staff.

ELBA staff will assist volunteers is developing modules that are appropriate for 14-19 year olds and can provide help with session structure and activities. ELBA staff will also coordinate with schools and ensure the smooth running of the modules.

Sessions can be run by as little as one company volunteer, although up to eight could be involved. This provides an exciting volunteering opportunity for staff as well as being a project that fits into most companies' Corporate Social Responsibility commitments. It also provides a unique training and development opportunity.
