ELBA's WAGs

Women's Action Group launched
ELBA is launching a new initiative, the ELBA Women’s Action Group (WAG), which aims to utilise the skills of corporate volunteers to support women in Tower Hamlets.
A variety of projects are being planned which harness the breadth of ELBA members’ skills and in turn provide a wide range of support to various groups of local women in East London.
Thomson Reuters recently hosted a networking event for female undergraduates from East London universities where the students had the opportunity to meet female employees and learn more about their respective career paths. The students were all matched to a Thomson Reuters mentor who will work with them over the course of their studies supporting their time management skills, prioritising workloads and career planning.
Female volunteers from Société Générale are supporting local women from the City Gateways Women’s Project with valuable literacy skills.
Thomson Reuters is arranging a Skills Seminar series, in which it will both host and provide free, high quality training to professional women working in local community organisations and charities. The first seminar on Project Management is scheduled for Monday 26 April 2010.
ELBA would like to work with more women-focused corporate diversity networks looking to engage with community projects and inspire local women.
