Nuno Mendes

The Guardian has named Nuno Mendes as “one of the hottest young chefs around”. He grew up in Portugal, sparking a love for Portuguese cuisine and seafood still evident in his cooking. Following training at the California Culinary Academy, Nuno began working as a chef. His passion for food has led him to study numerous different cuisines, and his career has led him to the finest restaurants in the United States and Europe.
He is now based at Viajante, Patriot Square, London E2 9NF.
CREATE Festival

The CREATE festival, sponsored by Deutsche Bank, runs from 19th June to 1st August and will present some of London’s best home-grown talent, giving you a chance to take part in a magnificent range of cultural events in the five boroughs hosting the London 2012 Olympics.
Go bonkers with Dizzee Rascal, dive into London Fields’ lido for an underwater soundscape, marvel at Punchdrunk’s new opera, The Duchess of Malfi, sing along with the wonderful Paloma Faith, build a vegetable villa in Hackney, find Tracey Emin in a disused post office…

A double-bill by two internationally recognised male choreographers. Thomas Noone’s Splinter, directed by Rob Tannion (Stan Won’t Dance) is dance theatre that strikes at the heart of the struggle. Driven by Jim Pinchen’s thunderous Japanese soundscape StopGAP’s five dancers split at the seams, hungrily devouring the dance. Thrown into another world will the group subsist or splinter? StopGAP’s performances have inspired audiences across Europe.

With BoJo’s unveiling of the brand new Routemaster, here’s a real treat that certainly isn’t like the other buses. Set in a quiet corner of East London’s bustling Brick Lane, this bustaurant has all the charm and magic you would expect. From the cosy seating upstairs to the view of an old classic motor out the window; not somewhere you would call ‘regular’.

The View Tube

The View Tube is a social enterprise and community venue located on The Greenway adjacent to the Olympic Park.
It was built using recycled shipping containers whose construction and installation was delivered by Urban Space Management. The View Tube is a partnership project between Leaside Regeneration, London Thames Gateway Development Corporation, the Olympic Delivery Authority and Thames Water.
