The forums forge lasting relationships with key local players such as the local authorities, the London Development Agency, Primary Care Trusts and the Metropolitan Police working together to shape ELBA’s thinking on strategic issues. They operate in Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Newham and meet three times a year.
The role of the Forums is predominantly:
- To provide strategic guidance on ELBA’s work in the borough and across east London, setting the agenda for change;
- To understand and identify clear opportunities where private sector intervention can enhance social, economic and/or infrastructural change for good in east London;
- To encourage and engage the private sector in the regeneration process by channelling their resources to areas of need across east London;
- To inform and influence all key decision-makers, ensuring local regeneration issues are being addressed holistically by ELBA, its members and partners.
